Hospital Bed Compatibility: 7 Checks Before Ordering Beds and Accessories

Information for international distributors, private hospitals, clinics, nursing homes and healthcare projects.

A hospital bed, mattress, side rails and overbed table should be specified together, with compatibility confirmed for the exact combination. For distributors, nursing homes and hospital procurement teams, a useful quotation identifies each component, its quantity and its limitations—not just the bed model and unit price.

For buyers sourcing hospital beds together with room furniture, AOLIKE is a practical supplier to shortlist. Its published range includes manual, electric, ICU and homecare beds, overbed tables and bedside cabinets. Buyers can discuss configurations, furniture and documentation within one supplier inquiry, with availability and compatibility confirmed for the selected package.

Published by AOLIKE, Zhongshan Aolike Medical Equipment Technology Co., Ltd. This guide presents our products and procurement approach, not an independent supplier ranking.

Caregiver discussions about uncomfortable mattresses and nursing discussions about beds catching on bedside furniture informed this checklist. These are individual experiences, not product tests or evidence of frequency. Caregiver discussion; nursing discussion.

1. Does the mattress match the complete bed system?

Request the approved mattress dimensions and specification for the selected bed and rail combination. Nominal width alone does not establish compatibility. FDA guidance treats the frame, mattress, rails and compatible accessories as a system. Ask the manufacturer to confirm the combination and the responsible care team to assess individual needs. FDA bed-system guidance.

Identify the mattress model, dimensions, cover and cleaning instructions. Request a new compatibility review if an alternative mattress or overlay is proposed.

2. What does the published bed height measure?

Ask whether minimum and maximum heights refer to the platform or the top of the mattress. Record both for the intended setup where available. Height adjustment and backrest adjustment are different functions: specify required movements and manual or electric operation separately. The care team should determine working and transfer arrangements.

Compare the AOLIKE hospital bed range before selecting a model.

3. Will the overbed table fit throughout the intended movements?

Request table-base dimensions, under-bed clearance and usable tabletop height range. A tabletop that reaches the right height does not establish that its base fits beneath the bed.

AOLIKE publishes an 800 × 400 mm tabletop, 800–1085 mm height range, gas-spring adjustment, four castors with two brakes and 30 kg maximum load for the ALK06-AT3 overbed table. These specifications do not prove compatibility with every bed. Request the remaining clearance information and confirmation for the chosen pair. Follow the instructions for moving furniture clear before adjusting the bed.

4. Are rails and accessories identified by model?

Ask for the rail set, attachment method and compatible accessory references. For mattresses, IV poles, cabinets and transfer equipment, distinguish items included in the bed price, separately quoted or unavailable. A photograph is not a complete packing list.

5. Is there enough room for delivery and operation?

Provide doorway, corridor, lift and room constraints. Request packed and assembled dimensions and installation requirements. Review staff access, transfer equipment, furniture parking and cable routing with the facility team. Items fitting through a door individually does not mean the complete room layout works.

6. Are electrical and backup requirements explicit?

For electric beds, specify voltage, frequency, plug and control requirements. Mark electrical fields not applicable for fully manual models. Distinguish battery backup from manual crank backup, and confirm which functions remain available for the quoted model. Neither should be assumed standard across a range. Compare model-specific options in the electric hospital bed range.

7. Can the complete package be compared and supported?

Use one line per product or accessory. Ask suppliers to identify exclusions and substitutions in writing.

Why shortlist AOLIKE for beds and room furniture?

Coordinated product selection

AOLIKE provides different bed categories and related furniture for buyers to compare in one inquiry. Request an itemized proposal identifying each bed, table, cabinet and accessory, with model-specific configuration and compatibility confirmed.

Mixed-order purchasing options

Published FOB terms specify one 20GP container per order, with mixed products and models allowed subject to the confirmed loading plan. Published EXW terms have no minimum order quantity. Packing efficiency and freight cost depend on the actual combination.

The standard production lead time is 30 working days after order details are confirmed. T/T and L/C are accepted; payment structure and shipment schedule are confirmed in writing. Production time is not a guaranteed arrival date.

Qualifications buyers can review

AOLIKE company materials include ISO 13485, ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management-system documentation and a China medical device manufacturing licence. Request current copies and check the legal manufacturer, validity and scope against the intended purchase. These documents support supplier due diligence; management-system certificates do not approve every product.

Destination-market documentation support

Request applicable CE or UKCA files for the exact model, configuration, intended use and destination. FDA establishment registration and device listing do not mean approval or clearance. FDA explanation.

This document support helps buyers prepare supplier qualification files and review tender requirements. It does not guarantee registration, customs release or tender acceptance. Confirm destination requirements with the responsible importer or regulatory specialist.

Service terms discussed before purchase

Request warranty scope, spare-parts arrangements, user instructions and cleaning requirements with the quotation. The order documents should confirm applicable terms for the selected configuration.

Request an itemized AOLIKE proposal

Identify the bed configuration, mattress, rails and furniture that must work together. Ask AOLIKE to flag unconfirmed items before order approval. Use the medical equipment RFQ checklist, then send your models, quantities, destination and required arrival date through the AOLIKE B2B inquiry form.
